CHRISTMAS BUREAU IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY USED ITEMS.
The Burnaby Christmas Bureau provides Burnaby families with low income food gift certificates and
new toys at Christmas.
The Burnaby Christmas Bureau strives to ensure that every child has gifts to open on Christmas day and every family can mark the season with a traditional holiday meal.
In 2008 we distributed $132,000 in Safeway gift certificates to 4,400 people and enough toys for 2,432 children thanks to the generosity and support of the Burnaby community. Learn more:

We help Burnaby families that might not otherwise be able to provide their children with toys and adequate food over the holidays.

How We Help
At the Burnaby Christmas Bureau, we ensure that Burnaby families with low-income will not go without food and children will not go without
new toys during the holiday season.
This program is about the well-being of our clients and our community. It continues to be beneficial in helping thousands of people, clients and volunteers alike, have an unforgettable holiday season.

How You Can Help
Generous donations from individual and corporate community members allow us to make Christmas bright for those in need.

new toys Our toy room is stocked with the generous donation of the community. Click here for the toy suggestion list.
Burnaby Christmas Bureau can accept new packaged toys only due to current health issues.
For new toy donations, the toy coordinator will be at the Toy Room. on Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 3:30pm.
The Toy Room is located at Unit 200 , upper floor, next door to Sears at Brentwood Town
Centre. Please call 604-299-5778 for directions or make other drop off arrangements. You can also drop off monetary donations at 204-2101 Holdom Avenue, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm.
:: Participate in the Angel Project We can provide you with a decorative poster and postcards featuring the names, ages & genders of typical Burnaby children.
Usually they are posted somewhere employees and/or customers can pick a child to buy a new Christmas gift for.
This is a great alternative to having a "Secret Santa" at work. Click here for the Angel Project Package.

How to Apply
To apply for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau, families must be:
1. Residents of Burnaby 2. Have children 18 years and younger 3. On income assistance or a low income working family
4. You must have ALL necessary documents in order to process your application.
If you are on Income Assistance, you must have ALL of the following:
1.
Current Income Assistance Cheque Stub
2. Child Tax Benefit or Care Card or Birth Certificate with your children's names and birthdays on it.
3. Proof of Residency (Phone bill, hydro bill, or Tenancy Agreement with your name and address on it.)
If you are NOT on Income Assistance, you must have ALL of the following:
1. 2 Current pay cheque or EI Stubs
2. Proof of Residency ( Phone bill, hydro bill, or Tenancy Agreement with your name and address on it)
3.Child Tax Benefit or Care Card or Birth Certificate with your children’s names and birthdays on it
If you don’t have cheque stubs you can bring along:
2008 T1 General for each adult in the family
2008 Notice of Assessment for each adult in the family
If you are new to the country and don’t have tax information, you need your immigration/residency papers.
If you are on a student loan, you need to bring your student loan papers.
